Production Dates: May 1–3, 7–9 Directed by Darve Smith, this 2013 adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher reimagines Frederick Knott’s classic 1966 thriller. Set in 1944 Greenwich Village, the story follows Susan Hendrix, a blind woman who finds herself terrorized by a trio of con men searching for a mysterious doll hidden in her apartment. As the tension peaks, Susan realizes her only advantage is to lure her tormentors into her own world of total darkness.
CAST advises that our upcoming production of Wait Until Dark is not recommended for young children.
This production is a classic suspense thriller.
The play features high-tension scenes, moments of peril, and stylized violence that may be frightening or unsettling for younger viewers.
True to the script's requirements, the production utilizes significant periods of darkness and sudden lighting effects to build suspense.
